Tecnau, a prominent provider of advanced print finishing solutions for both sheet-feed and continuous-feed inkjet presses, has announced a new strategic distribution agreement with Friedheim International, set to take effect from January 2025. This partnership will see Friedheim distribute Tecnau’s comprehensive product portfolio across the UK and Ireland, marking a significant step in the company’s regional sales expansion strategy.

The collaboration between Tecnau and Friedheim is built on a strong foundation, as the two companies previously enjoyed a successful 15-year partnership from 1997 to 2011. During this period, Friedheim played a key role in distributing Tecnau’s innovative print finishing solutions. However, this distributorship transitioned to IFS (Integrated Finishing Solutions) in 2011 following Tecnau’s acquisition of Lasermax Roll Systems. Under IFS’s stewardship, Tecnau continued to experience growth across the UK and Ireland.

As part of the transition to the new agreement with Friedheim, IFS will continue to represent Tecnau from January through June 2025, ensuring a smooth handover of sales and service activities. This phased approach is designed to maintain uninterrupted service and product availability for Tecnau’s customers during the shift. From July 2025 onwards, IFS will focus exclusively on supplying Tecnau equipment when integrated with Horizon and Smyth systems. Specifically, IFS will remain the exclusive distributor for Tecnau’s stitching and folding solutions connected to Horizon systems, as well as digital sewn binding solutions associated with Smyth systems in the region.

This strategic distribution agreement highlights Tecnau’s commitment to strengthening its presence in the UK and Ireland while leveraging Friedheim’s extensive industry expertise and network. Friedheim’s role as a distributor will enable Tecnau to enhance its accessibility to customers and ensure the continued delivery of high-quality print finishing solutions, including unwinders, rewinders, cutters, stackers, dynamic perforation and punching systems, as well as high-speed book production equipment.

The partnership also underscores the enduring relationships within the print finishing industry, with Tecnau, Friedheim, and IFS working collaboratively to ensure a seamless transition and sustained support for customers. By aligning with Friedheim, Tecnau aims to drive further innovation and growth in the region, solidifying its position as a leader in print finishing technology. This agreement marks a new chapter in Tecnau’s journey, reinforcing its dedication to providing cutting-edge solutions and exceptional service to its clients.
