Gruppo Comini, a prominent Italian company with 1,400 employees across 75 sites, faced significant inefficiencies with its fragmented print infrastructure. The company relied on multiple printer brands, leading to complex IT support challenges, including driver management and maintenance. This lack of standardization hindered workflow optimization and created operational bottlenecks, especially after the implementation of a new AI-driven ERP system in January 2025. The ERP required high-quality scans with optimized file sizes, which legacy printers couldn’t deliver effectively. The outdated devices produced large files that slowed down the ERP system, and manual data entry from paper documents further exacerbated inefficiencies.

Riccardo Ciola, IT Director at Gruppo Comini, highlighted the lack of a cohesive strategy to harmonize products and brands within the organization, resulting in significant operational challenges. To address these issues, Gruppo Comini partnered with Fujifilm, supported by authorized dealer A&B Sistemi and distributor Tyche. This collaboration led to the phased deployment of over 100 Fujifilm Apeos multifunction printers (MFPs), with the rollout set to be completed by the end of 2026.

A&B Sistemi played a crucial role in auditing Gruppo Comini’s existing infrastructure, identifying bottlenecks, and customizing the Apeos devices to align with the ERP system’s data processing demands. Tyche leveraged its expertise to connect Gruppo Comini with the most effective solutions, ensuring a smooth implementation tailored to the company’s digital transformation goals.

The integration of Fujifilm’s Apeos MFPs has already yielded substantial benefits. The devices’ advanced scanning capabilities and faster processing speeds—up to 55 pages per minute compared to the previous 40 pages per minute—have significantly improved efficiency. This 37.5% increase in speed translates to weekly productivity savings of up to four hours per user per site, totaling 300 hours across Gruppo Comini’s 75 locations once the rollout is complete.

Moreover, the automation of document processing has reduced manual data entry, minimizing human error and freeing employees to focus on higher-value tasks. Riccardo Ciola emphasized the transformation from one employee per site spending entire days inputting data row by row to a single person overseeing an automated process.

Fujifilm’s Apeos MFPs provide Gruppo Comini with a scalable, robust solution that supports digital transformation and operational efficiency. Nicolò Bargna, Product Marketing Manager at Fujifilm Europe, highlighted Fujifilm’s commitment to delivering solutions that bridge the gap between legacy systems and modern workflows, citing Gruppo Comini’s success as a testament to the effectiveness of Apeos MFPs in driving digital transformation.

This partnership underscores the strategic value of Fujifilm’s advanced printing solutions and its strong partner network in enhancing organizational efficiency and supporting digital transformation initiatives.
